The pursuit of remarkability.
Devtac was founded in Japan in April 2011 to build protective equipment that did not already exist. Fifteen years later, the Ronin remains the clearest expression of that brief.
Why a full-face helmet.
Issued combat helmets protect the cranium and leave the face open. That is a deliberate trade: weight, heat and field of view against protected area. For most of the last century there was no way to win it.
Modern aramid layups and multi-axis machining changed the arithmetic. Devtac was built to take the other side of that trade: cover the face, and engineer away the reasons nobody had.
Made where it is designed.
Design, tooling and assembly happen in Japan. The CAD you can rotate on this site is the same geometry the tooling is cut from, not a marketing approximation of it.
That closeness is why the Ronin has iterated through nearly ten major revisions. Each one is a real engineering change, driven by what came back from the field.
Stamped, not printed.
Every Ronin carries the Devtac plate. It is a small thing, and it is the point: the mark goes on equipment we are prepared to stand behind.
How we decide.
Protection is the product
Every aesthetic decision on the Ronin follows from a structural one. The shape is what the ballistics and the load path produced.
Serviceable in the field
A helmet that must be returned to the factory to be repaired is a helmet that is out of service. Components come apart with hand tools.
Honest specification
Level IIIA is stated as IIIA. We publish what the equipment does and, just as clearly, what it does not.
Fifteen years of revisions.
Devtac founded
Established in Japan to develop protective equipment beyond the issued standard.
Full-face ballistic platform
The first Ronin brings NIJ Level IIIA protection across the full face in a modular, serviceable assembly.
Respiratory integration
A second front frame carrying a Level IIIA mouth guard and a 3M bayonet interface extends the platform into contaminated environments.
Current generation
One shell in four sizes, a one-piece full mandible alongside the detachable magnetic cheek plate set, and a crown panel offered solid or ducted for the fan system.
The mark.
Two interlocked chevrons: the visor line of the helmet, doubled. Served from this site, not from a video platform: nothing is requested until you press play.
